Correct the Unit 28 FIX IT with this Answer Key
Read the reminders below and Finish (if you have not already done so) the Unit 28 Take Home Task.
REMEMBER:
A.) apostrophes are only used to show possession and for contractions (they are never used to make a word plural)
e.g. boy's could mean the boy owns something OR the boy is .... It does not mean a group of boys!
B.) However, plural nouns (not singular nouns) that end in an s only have an apostrophe added after the plural s to show ownership.
e.g. a group of boys that own something would be written as boys'
C.) Identify the type of word you created for each blank. (See the first 4 in the above Answer Key)
plural: a noun that describes more than one, normally ends in an s or es
singular possessive: a single noun that owns something, normally ends in 's
plural possessive: a plural noun that owns something, normally ends in s'
possessive pronoun: a special pronoun that shows ownership, never uses 's !
contraction: joins to words together, normally the ' replaces the missing letters.
