REVIEW

1. Correct your work from 5.4. I have indicated which questions you need to rethink in a comment on yesterdays assignment. Find this comment back in your email or in yesterday's assignment. You can use this 5.4 Answer Key. to help. (It mostly lists just the final answer)

2. Complete the following sheets;

• 5.1 and 5.2 Fractions and Equivalent Fractions

• 5.3 and 5.4 Improper and Mixed Fractions

SHOW your work & Put you answers in lowest terms whenever possible!

3. Take very clear pictures or scans of your work and EMAIL them to Mrs. Kamphuis as an attachment.

2. Gr. 8 Math (~ 1 hr)

1.) Read the points below and Correct your work with this 5.3 Answer Key and this 5.4 Answer Key.

When possible I showed both methods of adding/subtracting fractions (Changing to Improper fractions OR Keeping them as Mixed Fractions). I don't expect you to have both methods, but do expect to see one method that is well laid out. I left comments in google classroom that explain where/how you need to make improvements.

• Use red pen (also for fixing and adding the missing information)

• Most questions are worth 2 marks. One for showing the steps (common denominators!) and one for having the correct final answer (lowest terms and mixed number, when possible)

• No need to mark # 33 on pg. 185

• Calculate your mark out of 21 for each page. Write it in red near the top of each page.

• Also correct your answer...and the steps along the way!

2. Take pictures of your corrected work and add it to the correction assignment in Google classroom

3. Ask your parents for Quiz # 2 in the parent envelope. Read the points below and then complete it.

• # 8 has a typo , so I am removing it from the quiz. You don't need to do it.

• you may use a calculator, but I expect to see your converted fractions as well as your final answer. Write neatly as it may be difficult to fit in all the steps in the spaces provided.

• all final answers should be in lowest form and/or mixed number (mixed number only if your final answer is an improper fraction)

4. Upload clear pictures of your quiz to the assignment in Google Classroom.
